Lockdown - Tuesday 1.17.17

At 1:55 p.m. today (Tuesday, January 17th), it was reported to Stanwood High School administrators that there was a potential firearm on campus. The campus was immediately placed in lock down while the Stanwood Police Department and administration conducted an investigation.
The investigation confirmed that the weapon was discovered in the trunk of a locked car, owned by a retired police officer. The Stanwood Police department is continuing to investigate the situation. Students were in lock down for approximately 10 minutes.
Students and staff are to be commended for their professionalism and patience during the lock down. Our students and staff safety remains the district’s top priority.
24 Credit Requirement for the Class of 2021

Next year’s entering freshmen students, the graduating Class of 2021, will be required to have 24 credits in order to graduate. They are also required to create a High School and beyond plan that includes Personalized Pathways. These are related courses that lead to a specific post high school career or educational outcomes chosen by students based on interests. Personalized Pathways may include Career and Technical Education, World Languages or the Arts.

Stanwood - Camano Bond Facts

For the past two years the district has been obtaining input from community members, staff and students on plans to replace Stanwood High School and to provide a new facility to house Lincoln Hill High School, Lincoln Academy and Saratoga School. The Stanwood-Camano School District's Board of Directors approved a resolution to put a bond measure on the February 14, 2017 ballot. The proposition, "Bonds to Construct, Renovate and Improve School Facilities" would not increase taxes for property owners.

We are looking forward to seeing the new students that will join both Lincoln Academy and Lincoln Hill High School this year . We are dedicated to moving each and every student forward toward their goal. This is accomplished through the supportive community we aim to maintain at LHHS.
